21, 2006 Mogadishu, The leader of clan based
United Courts in Mogadishu is out of the closet and shows the
world his personality by giving interviews and traveling to
countries where his safety is not in jeopardy. Though there are
many denominations in Somalia, Mr. Aweys claims that he stood up
to serve Allah and fight what his colleagues call the infidels and
hypocrites. Definitely, United Courts do not have patience and
tolerance to live with those people who are not Islam but the
question is "who do the United Courts consider
hypocrites?" Anybody who does not get along or disagrees with
the courts is considered hypocrites and killing such people will
put the killers into heaven. Mr. Aweys raised himself into a position where
he is enforcing Allah's laws. He claims he is a peerless commander
and he is serving Allah. He is against all kinds of government.
His militias are 80% children who can not question what is wrong
and what is right. These militias are required to be loyal to
their commander in any circumstance. These militias are being
brain washed and willing to give up their lives for Mr. Aweys.
Some are trained for suicidal missions, assassinations etc. Cruel code of conduct on people is exercised by
cynically manipulating the religion. Mass demonstrations against
Aweys's courts were seen in many places but well armed youth were
crushing the people and curfews were imposed in those cities.
Economic doors were shut down or taken from the people and given
to those who are loyal to Mr. Aweys. In some cities, Mr. Aweys's militias commit massacre. Those who commit the murder in Bu'ale were even promoted. Media is controlled though most of the media is owned and controlled by Mr. Aweys clan including BBC Somali branch. One of the other reasons media does not cover United Courts actions is fear. Mr. Aweys, who opposes to use any form of government institutions, wants people to chant his name and asks for obedience, adoration and highest sacrifice. To conclude, Hassan Dahir Aweys is deviating from what is considered acceptable behaviour. He's using force to crush all those who do not chant his name high and reward those who massacres people for his cause. Cult is the word to characterize Mr. Aweys and he must be stopped now before it is too late.
