Monday, Octobar 23, 2006 United Slummy Courts (USC) lost the city of Bu'aleBu'ale, Somalia
The
city of Bu'ale is captured by JVA after heavy fighting between the
United Slummy Courts and the JVA militias that lasted over 24
hours. Some sources tell that the fight was initiated by the
militias loyal to clan based United Slummy Courts. The courts
claimed that JVA militias was defeated and suffered heavy loss
though the city control is in the hands of JVA.
On the the hand, 7 gun mounted trucks was captured and some others were burned by the JVA militias and the militias loyal to the United Courts relocated to Jilib according high rank officer from JVA. The
weather condition was one of the factors that made the fight
between these groups to last more than a day. Due to the condition
of the roads, movement of vehicles was limited but the United
Courts militias still managed to take some armored trucks to Jilib
for regrouping.
This clash was anticipated and the courts were planning this action for a month but this defeat will be a blow to the United Courts' plan to expand territorial power. It has been a week that United Slummy Courts called for Jihad against their fellow Somalis. United Slummy Courts officials deliver speeches regarding Jihad using selected verses from the Koran. The chairman of the executive committee of the United Slummy Courts, Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed, went to Jawhar to recruit youth and changed the Middle Shabelle Management when opposed his idea.
