Wednesday, August 23, 2006 Another Somali city, Galka'o, fall into the hands of EthiopiaGalka'o, Puntland Heavily armed Ethiopian troops invaded and captured the city of Galka'o dawn yesterday. The invasion was surprise to the people of the city because Puntlanders were not expecting Ethiopia to invade this part of Somalia. The regional autonomy was an ally with Ethiopia since the formation of Puntland Regional Government. This invasion came to a time when Colonel Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, the head of puppet government, is expected in Galka'o. It is not known if more cities and towns will be invaded. It has been 10 days that Ethiopian troops captured the border town of Balanballe. The newly formed government of Dr. Gheddi in Baido'a seems to be in agreement with the aggression and atrocities committed by merciless Ethiopian mercenaries. Somalia has been without a central government since the fall of late president, Mohamed Siad Barre, in 1991.
