25, 2007 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Colonel Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed,
Somali TNG president, came back to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from
London where he was for healthy reasons. Ethiopian government led
by dictator Meles Zanawi which has thousands of imperial troops in
Somalia expect report from the president, Col. Yusuf. It has been two months since the fall of Mogadishu into the
hands of Ethiopian troops and daily atrocious actions take place
in almost everywhere Ethiopian troops are present. They (Ethiopian
troops) shell, terrorize, rape, rob, and commit inconceivable
actions in the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu. When the president is asked why Ethiopian/Puntlander are
shelling or committing these crimes, he said, "Government
Troops (Ethiopian and Puntlanders) have the right to defend
themselves and respond attacks coming from/among the
people..." The Colonel forgot that he is the perpetrator. He
rules the country by decree and equality among the Somalis is not
in his vocabulary. Colonel Yusuf, who himself is a Puntlander, gets some finance
from Puntland. This is another way of saying Puntland takes part
terrorizing people in Mogadishu. People are moving out of Mogadishu because of the atrocities
and indiscriminate shelling coming from Puntland/Ethiopian
troops. The martial law relegated the whole parliament members to mere
spectators. The ministers are not respected in their departments.
The institution built in Nairobi (Somali Parliament) is crippled.
The Colonel lacks trust on any member outside his field of trust.
What a waste of money and effort!
