United Slummy Courts (USC) started enforcing Taliban style in Southern Somalia

It has been two days that the USC was controlling the port city of Kismayu. The leader of the USC militias, Hassan Turki, delivered speech that claimed the lives of three people and wounded others. USC militias burned the Somali flag before the demonstrating crowds who, in turn, wooed the leader. The militias that tookover the city open fire to the crowd indiscriminately.

The courts plan to establish a court in Kismayu and that court will be the only institution allowed to function in the city. The people who were welcoming the courts militias already started moving out of Kismayu. One local man told jlo that the USC militias made check points on every street that exits the city and people are asked their clans.

Another told jlo that conscription and recruiting is part of their plan. It will not be long when time tells how severe these courts will have an impact on the peoples choice. Taliban moves are being copied here and imposed on Somalia. These courts stand for punishment and they must be stopped before it is too late.
